Have You had a Successful Online Date?

Has dating, from an online dating site, worked for you? Have you met someone and ended up dating for a long time? Have you gotten engaged, or even married? If so, what is your opinion that made it work? Did it feel weird since it was someone you met at an online dating site, instead of through friends, or at a bar?
Feel free to share your experiences even if it did not work for you, I would be curious as to why.

Yes, I have had a wonderful experience with online dating, and dating sites in general. I met my current boyfriend on a dating site. He is in the Army and is stationed in Tokyo. We have been together for almost 6 months, and we are both crazy in love with each other. Even though it has been only a short time, we are getting married when he returns next fall. So online dating worked for me, and if it worked for me, it could work for you too!
